The wine A Culonna is produced by the winery Scirto, located in the region of Sicily, Italy. Scirto

The idea of creating Scirto Wines comes from a passion for vineyards and wine and the desire to preserve tradition by merging it with innovation. It's a small and young Sicilian company that has learned from past generations the love and will for this work. The company has always been involved in agricultural productions and specifically in wine and olive oil, but in 2010, to make a change, the company decided to alter its philosophy, materializing it in A' Culonna. The company is located in Passopisciaro, a fraction of Castiglione di Sicilia, a small town at the foot of the majestic Etna, on the north side, a territory that is now known worldwide for its excellent wines. The company's vineyards are precisely located in the Feudo di Mezzo and Porcaria districts. The vineyards, planted at the beginning of the 1900s, have a mixed type of cultivation, part bush and part espalier. The most present variety is Nerello Mascalese, an indigenous vine of the slopes of Etna whose origin dates back to very ancient times and is lost in the mists of time. Other varieties include: Nerello Cappuccio, Carricante, Grecanico, and Minnella. The grapes harvested in the first half of October are made unique by the presence of the volcanic soil, the noble presence of the sun, and the strong temperature difference between day and night. With these feelings and driven by a great passion for the land, by the desire to give it the right value, we want to carry on the tradition, dedicating ourselves to cultivation and taking great care in the work of the land made with ancient and natural methods supported by the most modern techniques.
