Fausta Mansio

The Agricultural Company Fausta Mansio is located in one of the most beautiful valleys of Syracuse, the Val d'Anapo, known in antiquity for the presence of papyrus and an area particularly suited for quality viticulture. The company was born in the '90s thanks to the passion of Fausto Consiglio for wine, and gastronomy in general, with the aim of recovering one of the oldest productions and traditions of Syracuse, the Moscato di Siracusa. The property extends over 13 hectares, of which 7 were planted with vineyards in 1999 and 3 with olive groves in 1995, all strictly cultivated organically, to preserve the naturalness and integrity of our territory to the maximum. The location of their vineyards on gently hilly terrain, about 50 m s.l.m., allows the sea breezes to reach the clusters and give them those particular characteristics that distinguish the Moscato di Siracusa from others. The soil on which the vineyard stands is predominantly clayey and this has allowed a perfect adaptation of the plant, thus being able to obtain valuable grapes. Add to this an extremely favorable climatic condition, with average summer temperatures around 30°C that allow a harvest, towards the end of August, of well-ripe grapes.
