Description
Vino di Anna
Anna Martens and Eric Narioo produced their first wine together on Etna in 2008. In 2010, the couple bought their first vineyard of old Nerello Mascalese bush vines in Contrada Crasà, complete with an old Etna wine press and a warehouse. Today, the family-run company owns 7 hectares scattered on the northern slope of the volcano, following biodynamic farming practices. "Vino di Anna" is a small family-run winery located on the northern slopes of Etna, near the village of Solicchiata. The vineyards are located in various Contrade (historic lava flows): from the picturesque lands composed of red pumice and rich in iron of Contrada Monte Pomiciaro, near Linguaglossa, to Piano Filici where the secluded "Don Alfio" vineyard is located. Going further up in altitude, there are the vineyards in Contrada Rampante, Contrada Pirao, which touches the National Park at an altitude of 1000 meters, ending on the north-western slope of the volcano with the vineyards of Contrade Nave and Tartaraci.
