Cortese

Stefano and Marina Girelli, siblings from Trentino with three generations in the world of wine, fell in love with Sicily in 2001. In 2016, their passion and entrepreneurship led them to purchase the Cortese Agricultural Company, located in Vittoria, in the wonderful Ragusa hinterland. The vineyards and winery were in a state of semi-abandonment, despite the formidable spirit of the former owner, Mrs. Giovanna Cortese, who until the end, even against the inexorable passing of the seasons, personally took care of this little Sicilian jewel. Stefano soon realized that Sicily was an underrated wine region and that the potential to produce quality organic wines was enormous. A passionate supporter of organic and sustainable production, Stefano firmly believes, not only in the better results that this method brings to the glass, but lives this approach as a true philosophy of life, convinced that everyone should commit to protecting the environment and leaving a better world for future generations.
