Graziella Camarda

The company Camarda was established in the early 60s in Passopisciaro, a hamlet of Castiglione di Sicilia in the Feudo di Mezzo and Porcaria districts, located between the Etna Volcano and the Alcantara Valley at the foot of the Nebrodi Mountains. The vineyards, located on dry stone terraces at 650 meters above sea level, are free-standing bush vines and partly espalier. The vine is of the Nerello Mascalese variety with rare Cappuccio plants, cultivated according to the ancient tradition handed down from father to son, that is, using only sulfur and copper sulfate, manually carrying out according to the old use: pruning, soil cultivation, binding and harvesting. The result of the processing, fruit of passion and dedication, is an excellent product whose fermentation occurs spontaneously with "indigenous yeasts", up to the refinement that takes place in used oak barrels.
