Description
Filippo Grasso
A family that has always lived and worked on Etna: that's how we like to define ourselves. Ours is a small reality, six hectares nestled between Etna and the Nebrodi, in the beautiful Calderara district, on the North side of Etna. We have been Etna winemakers for four generations, passionate and in love with our volcano and wine. We only cultivate native varieties: nerello mascalese and nerello cappuccio for the reds and rosé; carricante, catarratto and white minnella for the whites. We are located 650 meters above sea level; the soil is composed almost exclusively of volcanic stones that give the wine a unique minerality and sapidity. Our wines, simple and direct, are for us a way to let you experience the feeling of "hearing the volcano" in every sip. We also live with 100 olive trees, many of which are over a century old, from which we produce extra virgin olive oil. We work every day with passion to carry on a tradition: Etna in our DNA, Etna in our hearts, Etna in our glass!
