Pressing is carried out with a vertical hydraulic press, a traditional method that preserves the integrity of the must. The wine is aged on the lees for nine months in steel, followed by a further three months in the bottle, to ensure optimal maturation and a complex aromatic profile. Layla is a wine that pairs perfectly with fish and shellfish dishes, enhancing the delicate and fresh flavors of the sea. The ideal serving temperature is between 10 and 12 °C, to fully appreciate its aromatic and taste nuances. Azienda Agricola Millami

The Millami Agricultural Company was founded in Marsala, at the western tip of Sicily, in the early 1950s. The vineyard is the result of the work of the grandparents of the current owner, Grandfather Diego Maggio and Grandfather Michele Morsello Angileri, who took care of converting their respective agricultural companies specialized in wheat cultivation, into wine companies, forever and radically changing the panorama of Sicilian wine. With an extension of about 12 hectares of vineyard, the company stands out for the variety of grapes grown and for the location of the various plots in different geographical areas of the Marsalese countryside, for a total of as many as eight different plots for as many terroirs and nine different grape varieties. It ranges from white berry vines (Catarratto, Grillo, Inzolia, Zibibbo), to red berry ones (Nerello Mascalese, Frappato, Nero d'Avola and Merlot) and grey berry (Pinot Grigio). The family soul of the company reflects an indissoluble bond to Sicilian culture and traditions, which is expressed daily through respect for biodiversity and its fauna, and through a responsible and sustainable transition towards an organic farming regime.
