Description
Giotto Bini
The Serragghia farm was born at the end of the 90s, thanks to a real coup de foudre by the founder, Gabrio Bini, for the island of Pantelleria. Gabrio, an architect of Florentine origin and adopted Milanese, started the company with a production of capers, later opening up to a small production of wine. There are few hectares of vineyards, 6 in total of which 5 are in production, all cultivated according to the traditional technique of the Pantesco Tree, the only one able to withstand the strong island wind. Gabrio immediately understood that the only possible path to follow is that of environmentally friendly production. Today it is Giotto, the son, who leads the company together with his father, remaining faithful to the philosophy of the origins. In the vineyard, neither sulfur nor copper is used, the only contribution to the earth are two horses that during the winter period are left free to roam among the vines, to fertilize and "prune" at their leisure. The wines of Giotto and Gabrio Bini are the result of spontaneous fermentations that occurred in Spanish amphorae buried in the tuff (the same ones used by Foradori) and long macerations on their own skins. Furthermore, sulfur is not added at any stage of winemaking. The wines show incredible longevity as they age, leaving those who drink them speechless for their simply pure flavors. The arrow is the distinctive symbol of the labels affixed to the long and slender bottles, which refer to a sculpture of one meter and 80 designed by Gabrio and made by a Tuscan marble worker.
