Description
Bonfiglio
The Bonfiglio Farm was officially established in 1986, but its roots are much older, in fact, the Bonfiglio family has been cultivating the lands of Briga since the early 1900s, with production of lemons, oranges and oil. At the beginning of the 2000s, the conversion took place, the citrus grove was uprooted, the land was re-prepared and the vineyards were created, with the addition of the property in Piano Cuturi (Giampilieri). In 2015, the commercial name "Cantine Bonfiglio" was born. In line with the morphology of the Peloritano territory, the hills on which the vineyards of the Cantine Bonfiglio are located are of a contained size and present a type of soil defined as "medium texture", consisting mainly of sand and clay. This is a type of permeable and very fertile soil, which provides the calcium and magnesium necessary for the nutrition of the vine. From soils with these characteristics, elegant and well-structured wines are born, of great persistence and balance. Piano Cuturi has the peculiarity of being less than 100mt above sea level and a few hundred meters in a straight line from the coast.
