We are located on the eastern slope at the foot of the Etna volcano, at 450 m above sea level in the municipality of Mascali, where Diego and Cinzia manage 3 hectares of vineyard planted with bush vines, thus realizing the dream of producing wine with the utmost respect for the environment and enhancing the native varieties of the Etna area. Wines produced with maceration in crushed pottery vats, refinement in natural terracotta amphorae and/or barrique with minimal amounts of sulfites only when necessary during bottling, spontaneous fermentation, indigenous yeasts and no filtration. All these practices make the wines of the Cantina del Malandrino truly special and capable of best representing the characteristics of the mineral soils of Etna that every day Diego, with an engineering background but a farmer's heart, protects with so much love and dedication because his is a project of biodiversity and enhancement of the territory that goes beyond the vineyard and wine but of soil protection and synergy with the surrounding environment.
