After years of study and work in Tuscany, which helped me develop an agricultural and oenological consciousness, inspired by the respect for biological and natural rhythms, I decided to return to my land, western Sicily. In this territory, in some ways inaccessible and wild, but at the same time rich and generous, full of scents, aromas, fragrances and unique flavors, I tried to apply the knowledge acquired for sustainable and non-invasive agriculture. My commitment is to produce a handmade wine, which reflects all the characteristics of the soil and the natural environment and which has in itself the various facets that the different vintages bring. My work is nothing more than that of a midwife, to interpret, assist and help, from the vineyard to the cellar, to the bottle. The fermentations all occur spontaneously and my interventions in the cellar are minimal and essential, so that the fermentations and refinements take place in the best possible way. The Calogero Caruana Farm includes 3.5 hectares of vineyard, 2 hectares of arable land and 1.5 hectares of olive grove with Biancolilla and Nocillara del Belice varieties (DOP Val di Mazara).
