"Nica" is a Sicilian word that means small, Vigna nica is indeed a small Sicilian winery; we started with less than 2 hectares reaching year after year to the current area of almost 5 hectares. Our vineyards are located in the province of Messina, they overlook the Aeolian Islands and fall within the area of the Mamertino D.O.C. which has very ancient origins because the "Mamertinum" wine was one of the 4 favorite wines of Emperor Julius Caesar.
Alongside the classic method of Organic cultivation, the techniques of Biodynamic agriculture are used to experiment and above all to live in the field every day learning to better understand the territory in full respect of nature. Our wines are artisanal products that will never be the same from year to year because each plant is different but above all each vintage is.... and this is precisely what makes it beautiful!
