The project Stanza Terrena finds its home in the picturesque Villa Santo Spirito, the authentic soul of this Etna district, the oldest and most renowned in the area. Giuseppe Grasso, the grandfather of the current namesake producer, was a true pioneer in these Etna lands, successfully starting the trade of grapes and bulk wine in Passopisciaro. Beppe, the tireless protagonist of this story with deep roots, after a period dedicated to boxing, undertook oenology studies in Marsala and then immersed himself for three years in intense experiences among the vineyards of Alsace, Bordeaux, New Zealand and South Africa. Today, the terroir and the Palmento of Villa Santo Spirito are the setting in which Stanza Terrena takes shape, a place that has undergone an extraordinary transformation thanks to Beppe's projects and talent. From a vineyard of only 5 hectares, with vines boasting up to 200 years of age, he produces four wines that manage to uniquely reconcile tradition and contemporary oenological and environmental awareness. The production is niche, both for the characteristics of the wines and for the size of the company. Just over 12,000 bottles, including white, rosé and red, are vinified according to ancestral methods and advanced knowledge acquired thanks to international collaborations. Everything else is found in the glass, which overflows with a "volcanic" passion that makes these wines unique.
