The Costa family owns a wonderful 5-hectare vineyard, located in Zafferana, on the eastern slope of Etna, at 550 m s.l.m.. Native vines in three different installations: - About 1 hectare, just over 10 years old, planted with Nerello Mascalese and raised with spurred cordon. - Just over 3 hectares, about 40 years old, raised with a tree supported on a row and planted with red grapes of Nerello Mascalese and Cappuccio and white grapes Cataratto, Carricante and Minnella, mixed as per tradition. - Just under 1 hectare, positioned on small terraces made with dry stone walls in lava stone, the oldest part of the vineyard, with a plant over 80 years old, raised with the traditional tree method. From this vineyard, vine care, low yields per plant, careful selection of grapes, but above all a lot of work and passion, excellent WINES are produced that can boast the prestigious Etna DOC label.
